FOR CONGRESS
Military, Veterans, and Military Families
As your next Congresswomen, I support:
-
Authorizing the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure that TRICARE and Medicare pay for medical treatments without burdening service-members and veterans with bills and demands for payment.
-
Modernizing the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs to fully integrate health record systems to follow a service- member/veteran from boot camp to grave.
-
Repairing all dilapidated barracks and family housing.
-
Protecting service-members from predators within the ranks that seek to cause harm to our dedicated men and women.
-
Prioritizing oversight over the Department of Defense to ensure that contractors are not wasting precious defense funds, and oversee the protection of service-members and their families.
-
Expanding telemedicine and telehealth options of VA services so as to better serve veterans who have to drive long distances VA clinics in Elko, Fallon, Gardnerville, and Reno.
-
Making nursing home eligibility part of the VA health benefits package.
-
H.R. 2191, the Veterans Cannabis Use for Safe Healing Act, which would prohibit the Secretary of Veterans Affairs from denying a veteran benefit administered by the secretary by reason of the veteran participating in a State-approved marijuana program. 33 states have legalized marijuana for either medical or recreational use.
-
Fully funding Post – 9/11 GI Bill benefits for veterans and their families.
